trolling motor thrust?

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I’ve recently built a 8′ plywood dinghy that (in theory) seats 2 or 3 people at most, and I was hoping to put some type of engine on it, and since an outboard would be too heavy, I was thinking of putting an electric trolling motor onto it. I was wondering how much thrust I would need and which type would be the cheapest.

What is the name of this plastic material?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

All I remember about it is that it was on future weapons this plastic can float on water and they used it to armor up a dinghy boat the kind the seals use. It’s supposed to be even stronger than Kevlar.

Do you know the story of Samir Kantar?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

He is one of the “heroes” welcomed back by Hezbollah in exchange for Israeli corpses. Now that he is a free man maybe John Stewart, Dave Letterman and Larry King will want to have him on and ask him what it is like to bash in the head of a four-year-old.

“In the dead of night on April 22, 1979, Kantar and three other gunmen made their way in a rubber dinghy from Lebanon to the sleepy Israeli coastal town of Nahariya, 5 miles south of the Lebanese border. There, in a hail of gunfire and exploding grenades, they killed a policeman who stumbled upon them, then burst into the apartment of Danny Haran, herding him and his 4-year-old daughter outside at gunpoint to the beach below, where they were killed.

An Israeli court found that Kantar shot Danny Haran in front of his child, then smashed her head with his rifle butt. ” http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080716/ap_on_re_mi_ea/israel_lebanon
