i have a creek in my back yard that has catfish and blue gill in it, and im thinking of buying a 14ft long by 42in wide jon boat to use to fish the creek, i would like to know how shallow it would float because in 3 spots the water it about 4-6inches deep.

I have a large, beautiful maple tee in my back yard yard and over the last couple of years some of the roots have become exposed. Earlier this year I noticed that the roots have been hollowed out almost like a canoe. What caused this and can it damage the tree. And what can I do to stop this problem. This is a great tree and I really don’t want to loose it. Thank you for all your help.
