Help with the MPG on a 9.9hp Merc!!?
I have a ’96-’98 (not sure) Mercury 9.9 two stroke which is in very good shape on a basically brand new 14 ft aluminum jon boat with a 36 inch bottom. I am going camping on an island in the Mississippi River and I was wondering if anyone could give me a close estimate as to what kind of mpg i can expect. I have only made short runs of less than 3 miles from the landing by my house. I have a 6 gallon and a 3 gallon tank but am wondering if i need more. I plotted the tracks we will be taking on google maps and all total i came up with close to 90 miles. Any help would be great. Thanks everyone.
I didnt think i had to go into so many details. But i have to go 9 miles downstream to the island fully loaded with enough gear for two couples by my self. Then i have to make a 4 mile round trip run to pick up 2 other people then another 4 mile round trip run to pick up one person. Its 15 miles round trip from the island to the fishing hole and it will be me and 1 other person with minimal fishing gear. So basically i can run the boat at 23mph with me and my fishing gear and 20 mph with me and a buddy with fishing gear. 90 miles was a rough estimate but maybe close
What is a good 8′ fiberglass sailing dinghy?
I want a nice rowboat/ sailing dinghy. It can only be 8 feet long. The Walker Bay dinghys look cheap to me and I have a hunch they don’t sail well either. I don’t want a pram like El toro or (Naples) Sabot. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you give me the manufacturers name or class name Maybe I can google it quite easily. Although….I didn’t get much when I googled Fatty Knees, so I guess they don’t make them any more. I’m looking to purchase new or like new. I’m getting rid of my clunker.
Does Anyone Remember this Childrens’ Movie?
It would have been late 1980′s. There were two children and their mom was a gymnast / trapeze artist. They found this little man / troll from another world. He was invisible to adults and they gave him a Coke. They took a canoe to his world. There, people could go down a slide and become what they dreamed. Did I dream this?!! I can’t find it anywhere on Google, but I have vivid memories of it…
Got a new Catamaran and can’t find the brand name, vin, year, anything.?
It’s an 18′ catamaran. yellowish. has a black tramkpoline. Looked into the hull.. no foam, all hollow. I thought there would be foam in it. I have a sail made by the Patterson sail company. Has a big symbol of a “P” and maybe a letter “4″ incorporated into it on the left side. This same symboli is on the frame of the rutter..could be after market stuff? can’t google any Patterson catamaran. according to the sail, the company is out of Newport beach..or is it Hamilton, no I think Newport. Looks like a Hobie 18, but there is no written indication of that. Thanks
not new, just new to me. It looks like an ancient artifact. no clue on age. someone could say 1960 or 1985 and I would believe both.
No title, Texas laws are pretty lenient about that stuff. It was a gift from an aquaintance of my brothers..salvage titles are pretty easy to get..no paperwork. I can track down the guy I guess. I wonder if he even knows. He didn’t really seem to take care of it. It’s old and poss. has negative value..There are still some plants on it.
I just restored a basket case Harley. I know about letting cheap projects get out of hand. This thing will at least have a value of 1000 when I’m done. Good sail, repairable trampoline and easy fibreglass repair. I’ll be in the water soon. It is a Prindell after all. Only the symbol on the rutter can be found.
confirmed, the symbol is for Prindle and the design of the boat matches pictures on the net
Bait tank for Inflatable Dinghy?
I’m looking for a small bait tank for my inflatable RIB (11’2″), searched google and can’t find anything I want. Needs to be at least 5 gallons; probably not more than 15 gallons. Cant be more than 32″ wide, will be used for CA inshore/harbor fishing.
