I have built a catamaran but have no way to power it. i don’t want to use a motor. sails are out of it because there is no wind. and its too big for oars. my only idea was a paddle wheel like off a fairy, only not quite as big. any other ideas

This will be my first time at a week long camp in June. I have NO idea what to pack. Well ofcourse clothes, toiletries, etc. But im not really sure what to bring. First of all, the camp is for a week towards the end of june in southern Ohio, so it should be warm. We will be doing alot of outdoor activities like canoeing, rappeling, rock climbing, etc.

Any tips or lists you have would be great, thanks ahead of time

I’ve met a cool guy, and we both talked about going canoeing on a date. Neither have us has ever been, and we thought it was a relatively easy task. I googled it and read horror stories. So is this a common activity for the inexperienced? How difficult is it? I was thinking a calm lake or something. We’re not trying to get too crazy! Thanks!

Does any one know where I can get info on C. Columbus’s idea on sailing to Asia?

Let’s assume for the moment that global warming is a real threat, unnaturally created by mankind…. And that the polar ice caps hold the key to preventing a chain reaction….And that we can’t just stop all greenhouse gas emissions from one day to another.
I have seen that a concept for a huge solar wind sail exists. What if we shoot up and unfold one of those into a geostationary orbit over the poles, to create just a little bit of “shade” over the ice caps.
Do you think that would help to stop the ice caps from shrinking?
