My friend and i are considering buying a boat to go fishing in waters near our houses in new york. (mostly calm water) We are not sure what kind of boat to get. Keep in mind we are only teenagers with limited money looking to spend no more than $350. i know sports authority has a canoe for this price but am not sure if this would be ideal for fishing. There are also numerous “inflatable boats”. Now i dont know if i should trust this because of the fear that it may pop. Any good cheap boats that you guys are aware of? What kind of boat should we pursue?

i’m fifteen and i’ll be able to drive a boat soon and i love fishing. we don’t have a boat and i’d love to get myself a little jon boat. i’ll be using it in the potomac river a little but mostly in the creeks coming off of the river. i’m looking for a boat that will last me a while. it doesn’t have to be fancy. i want it around 10-12 feet. i’ll probably get it used to save money. i want it to have an engine. it needs to last. it cant leak at all. what do you suggest for brands or any other suggestions you have will help. thanks!

I plan to put on a jon boat. Are the new outboards all they are cracked up to be or am i better off looking for used 2 strokes? I know that the Suzuki oil injected 2 strokes were one of the best ever made in making power. Im looking to get a outboard possibly a 25 hp and another 5hp-10hp for a smaller jon.

I buy/sell alot, usually with dirt bikes that I’ll find cheap enough to resell to make pretty good profit from since there isn’t any sells tax and I’ve got jon boats for 600-800$ that I’ve turned around and sold for a 1,000 and I just got a new truck which drained me completely of all my savings and now even more then before I’ll run across steals that I don’t have the money to put up like just last week I could of got a Jeep 97 111,000 miles for 1,500 that just needed a rear end and put one in it, got it checked out and sold for 3,000 easy… I was making a killing with craigslist/ebay buys and now I don’t have the money to put down for anything and I need some start up money but I can’t get a loan with no credit and I’m pretty sure If I got a loan using my truck as collateral I would need to put full coverage on it which is outrageous for a 20yr old male but I own some land so could I use it because I’m just new to credit and I can’t get my parents to co-sign because there out of the country for the next few months.

so i was searching the web for a reasonable dinghy to have to use once in a while to go fishing and what not or just to ride around in. but im not a man of money. i figured it would be cheaper to buy around 20 rolls of duct tape and some wood. if i constructed a wooden boat frame and used duct tape to cover it as a hull, would this be practical? would it last a while or fall apart after a use or 2? and also for a 2 person dinghy that is that is about 4′ wide at the top,5′ long, and 3′ tall, would i need that much duct tape? thanks yallz!
