Can I put fiberglass on the bottom of my aluminum Jon boat?
I recieved an aluminum Jon boat the other day free of charge. Today I tested it for leaks and found that about half on the rivets leak. Could I fiberglass the entire bottom of my boat or would it just peel off in a giant sheet?

Painting a fiberglass canoe?
Does anyone know if I could paint over the old marine paint that’s on it now with a good oil base paint? Do you think it would peel, or come off very easy if I put 3 or 4 coats on it?
I don’t leave it in the water. I’m not looking for perfection, I’ve had the canoe for over 20 yrs and I’m looking for a quick and inexpensive fix. Marine paint cost to much for an old beat up canoe. Thanks for your answers in advance to everyone that answers.
