Mass. Sen. Kerry docks yacht in RI, saving $500K

BOSTON — Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is docking his family’s new $7 million yacht in neighboring Rhode Island, saving roughly $500,000 in Bay State taxes.

The Boston Herald reported Friday the 76-foot, New Zealand-built sloop has two cabins, a pilot house fitted with a wet bar and cold wine storage. It is owned by a limited liability corporation in Pittsburgh, the longtime home of Kerry’s wife, philanthropist Teresa Heinz Kerry.

If the boat were docked at the couple’s summer vacation home on Nantucket, they would be liable for $437,500 in one-time sales tax. They’d also have to pay $70,000 in annual excise taxes.

Instead, Rhode Island has repealed those taxes.

A Kerry spokesman says the boat is being kept at Newport Shipyard not for tax reasons, but “for long-term maintenance, upkeep and charter purposes.”

Another hypocritical liberal, and a coward at that, John Kerry (D) a pathetic excuse for an individual avoids taxes in his own state by docking his little dinghy in Rhode Island. Will he award himself some more medals like he did in Vietnam, perhaps a tax dodging medal would be appropriate to add to his undeserved medal collection, only this one he does deserve.

Occasionally you read or hear stories about players who have taken the Stanley Cup to their home towns, etc. What stories about the Cup have you heard as to where it’s been? For example, I read somewhere that Chris Simon took the Cup back to his home town and took the Cup out for a canoe ride?

you dont have to translate all of them but if you know any of them i would appriciate it, it’s for a project and i couldnt find any translation for it.

I am going to fly my sister to Italy, then buy a massive yacht and go sailing, then have a hot air baloon ride, then I will buy her a Saleen sports car. If she wants anything along the way, she can have it. I even am planning on purchasing her $50,000 worth of clothes and jewelry, plus a private jet because I know she likes that and has always wanted her own plane. She wanted 8 gold bars for her birthday too but I only plan to give her 4. Today I saw a $62 million house on Yahoo and asked if she wanted it. I agreed. AM I missing anything? I feel like I should do more because she is my sister after all.

Someone told me that I can buy a $40 per person sailboat ride in Duluth. I thought that was ‘Synergy for Sail’ but, they seem to be out of business! What other place could possibly give RIDES for so cheap? (I don’t want to rent a sailboat)
