WHY ARE CATAMARANS SO EXPENSIVE?

Lagoon 380 for 350,000 plus dollars, come on!, I can buy a 3 story mansion on 100 acres for that, and that boat is not that big, WAY OVERPRICED!!!!

News Story – Wow – In society, this brings a whole new dimension to the phrase of “beating a horse”, you agree

I know the technical phrase is “beating a DEAD horse” but some people shorten it ….

Woman riding horse at midnight charged:News Article

SYLVANIA, Ala. (AP) – A woman who went for a horseback ride through town at midnight and allegedly used the horse to ram a police car was charged with driving under the influence and drug offenses, police said Tuesday.

“Cars were passing by having to avoid it, and almost hitting the horse,” said Police Chief Brad Gregg.

He said DUI charges can apply even when the vehicle has four legs instead of wheels.

Police in the northeast Alabama town received a call around midnight Saturday about someone riding a horse on a city street, Gregg said.

Officer John Seals found Melissa Byrum York, 40, of Henagar on horseback on a nearby road and attempted to stop her. Seals asked the woman repeatedly to get off the horse, but she kept trying

If anyone can help me translate this within the next hour?

Ld be extremely grateful!! Even just a basic one! Please, I need to translate this into frenh for tomorrow. Yes it is French homework, but it’s not my translating skill that is needed because I live in France, so I just needed to write the story. Which I have done. PLEASE??!!!!!! it’s this:
“I’m cold” I murmered, for the sixth time. But jon didn’t seem to mind. Then again, if you can endure sitting in a boat waiting for a fish to bite your fishing line, you can endure anything. I’d like to say that I came on this fishing trip for some quality time with my uncle but the truth is my parents were in hawaii for the weekend and all my friends were at a lady gaga concert. Honestly, how can anyone in the right mind go like that kind of music? Well, I had to admit, that concert seemed pretty exiting compared to this dreary trip.
”Hey Louis,” Jon said, snapping me out of my daydreaming rather abruptly. “I think I got a bite!”
”Great” I replied, not as convincingly as I’d have liked
”Wow! I think this is a big one!” he persisted
I risked a glance over and noticed he was struggling a little. I dismissed it as he was getting a little bit old and weak. Don’t tell him I said that, or, wrote it rather…
”Louis, seriously can I get some help over here?”. I didn’t think he was going to drop this at all, so I went over and helped him. This, I would find out later, was a very big mistake.
For no sooner had I grabbed hold of the fishing rod, he grinned at me, and just before letting go, told me “good luck”.
As soon as I grasped the fact he let go of the rod, I plunged head first into the water, spinning. Naturally, I panicked. My head was filled with numorous things – for example, what on earth could have pulled me overboard so easily in the middle of a lake? Then of course why had jon just let go? And what did he mean by good luck? But then, a more important thought fought it’s way into my conciousness. I was human. I was underwater. Humans can’t breath underwater. I panicked again, and the remaining air in my lungs escaped me. I’d heard once it would be hard to tell which way was up, but I looked around and saw light filtering throuh the water. I swam towards it as fast as I could and came up gasping for air. I was about to try swimming back to the boat when I realised it had gone. Which was strange because i’d only been under for a few seconds, and uncle jon’s boat didn’t have an outboard motor. I decided to swim to the shore and think what exactly happened back then.

The boat was no-where in sight. Neither was the small lakeside cafe we’d stopped at before we went out onto, and in my case under the lake. I sat up so I could get a better view of things, and noticed a fishing hook with a line attached to it, the other end of the line was still in the water. I tugged on what was inevitably my uncle’s fishing line, not sure what to expect and it simply came out of the water. I pulled it back to me sitting on the beach and something strange happened. The water began to ripple, but with a sandy colour. As I watched this sandy colour turn to a sort of brown colour, right before it began to, well, solidify. Just a few seconds later the lake had become a big patch of soil, and come to think of it, so had the sand. Right before my eyes, I saw grass begin to erupt from the fresh ground. Now, I knew this wasn’t possible, but it seemed the events so far had pretty much shredded the laws of science, so I gasped as the grass grew really quickly so that it covered the area surrounded by forest – which strangely had stayed the same. Then a chimeny stack sprouted from the ground. Followed by some roof tiles, which were – I couldn’t believe it – attatched to a house, which continued to rise from the ground until, standing before me was an expensive looking modern house. I heard some giggling behind me and turned to see two beautiful girls – around my age, came skipping past me. One of them stopped and turned to me, and sounded just like a good friend, said “Close your mouth Louis! You look like you’ve just seen a ghost!” and then skipped off to join the other girl and together they entered the house and closed the door behind them. I obediantly closed my mouth and, as you do, fainted.

When I woke up, I could hear car horns, a police siren and some people shouting. I sat up and found I’d been lying on a few layers of cardboard in a backstreet allyway. I got up and wondered in the direction of the street and the scene started to change again. Still half asleep, I didn’t have enough energy to act shocked, so all I could manage was to look rather shocked and stifle a small gasp. And then I began to shiver. Partly because I was scared at what was happening to me, but mostly because the new scene was on top of a big, snow covered hill. I heard some creaking behind me and turned to see a frail old woman opening the door to a log cabin that wasn’t there a few seconds ago. She invited me inside, and within a few minutes I was sit

Do you like this story?

its kinda a bit of a horror story. its for english. im 13 btw.
Danger in the Deep

It was a beautiful day in the Bahamas. The palm trees were swaying, the crystal blue waters were shimmering, and occasionally you could see a couple of fish dart past.
We were walking along a road just next to breath-taking beaches following a diving instructor, holding our oxygen tanks, flippers and mouth pieces. The oxygen tanks were very heavy and a few people in our group were walking in a comical fashion, because there wet suits were probably a bit too tight.
We finally reached the pier to which our catamaran was tied. I glanced down the pier to see where the watermark where the tide was at his highest. Scattered all the way below was dried up seaweed and pretty shells. As I looked further down I saw that the pier was far longer than I had thought, stretching probably another 15 meters under the water. We walked down it and then clambered onto the boat.
We all took our seats and then we set off. Slowly we started to go faster and faster until the boat was smacking off of the waves and our bums hurt. Our attention was caught by a pod of dolphins leaping out of the water. They were so graceful and beautiful. It just made me feel so lucky I was to be here.
Then, just as I was getting used to the motion of the boat, the instructor slowed down until we stopped and got out of the cabin.
“Okay everyone, go and get your oxygen tanks and flippers, and then, I think we will be ready.”
I heaved on my oxygen tank and formed a line with a partner. Then I sat on the edge with my partner, and fell backwards. The water rushed over my head and immersed me in the tropical blue waters of the Bahamas.
We all gathered together under water and got or partners again and swam off. I swam along looking at all the beautiful coral reefs and the vivid coloured fish. It all went really quick and I could have stayed out there for far longer. But I suppose we had to because it was starting to get a bit darker.
We just started swimming forward slowly when I realised that my air tube was caught on some coral. It wasn’t a big deal so the instructor just swam down and was going to take it off. And then we saw it – a flash of silver darting past. Panicking, the instructor tugged at the pipe, it just wasn’t coming off. Then I spotted another silver flash behind us, and then to the left. I tugged really hard and the coral broke, setting me free.
As I turned around, all I could see was blood in the water, and then the body of the instructor floating upwards with his arm detached to his body. I suddenly realised that my oxygen tank was running out, so in desperation, I swam back to the dead remains of the instructor because I know that they had bigger tanks than us. So I took his tank and pulled mine off and put on his. I felt really selfish doing this, but it’s not like he was going to need it. I swam back up slowly, as I knew that I would explode if I went up too quick. As I swam up upwards so painfully slowly I knew that the shark could get me at any time. I finally reached the top. Then I realised that I was stuck in open water by myself…
I day past and I was shattered, because I didn’t dare to sleep. My stomach was wrenching as I hadn’t eaten anything for ages. My head was sore from not drinking anything and I probably would have lost more from diving. I was so tempted to just drink the water around me, but that would just dehydrate me even more. Now and again I would swish water around me mouth just to stop it being so dry and then I would spit it out. I was so cold, I had lost all feeling in my legs and my fingers looked like they had been in the water for years because they were so wrinkly. I was so tired so I just closed my eyes and tried so desperately not to fall asleep, but I couldn’t help it.
I woke to the sound of an engine; which was strange because I couldn’t see one. But the I looked round and saw the best thing in my life, a fishing boat! I flapped around as much as I could, so it could notice me, and it turned and started to come towards me! Closer and closer until it was right beside me. It chucked down a ladder and one of the crew members climbed down and heaved me up, I would have never been able to climb up myself, I was too weak.
They took me on and took my life jacket off of me and gave me a towel and water. Then once I warmed up they gave me some soup.
Once I got back to solid ground I found out that what happened was that they had mixed up the registers of who was going and who wasn’t and the wrong register had two less people than what there should have been. So they left us out assuming that they had everyone. I can tell you one thing, I’m not going diving again!

whats your take on my short story?

i was sitting at home wondering about why i never got off of the ground with my hobby of sailing.i decided to venture into the eastside costal port of san reyes in virginia to book a boat.i kissed my wife goodbye as she gets seasick whenever we sail so i left her behind naturally.in my occupation im a garage door installer and i love film and the arts but a passion for sailing is my foremost treasure.i had the $150 fee for 3 hours of sailing and now i can finally travel the ocean for a fun afternoon.i set sail and had all of my snacks like doritos and seafood salad sandwiches plus my shweppes.as i went out about a mile from the coast i saw a seagul land on my bow.i then looked at it for several seconds before it flew closer to me.i noticed it had a note attached to its foot.i removed it ever so carefully and read it quickly.it said that i was to veer west for about 1.7 miles.i did according to my compass and estimated the distance by speed and wind calculations.

well i saw in the distance with my sport binoculars what appeared to be an island but very small and probably not heavily occupied.as i approached it i was amazed to see something that made me jump out of my seat.it was the small group of about 5 islanders.i was about 12 minutes from its land and decided to definitely venture over to its people awaitng me.im thinking that was the case here but illl find out soon enough.i made for shore and fastened my boat to a dock.

as i walked about 100 yards i was greeted by the 5 i saw earlier.whats going on here i said?we are shipwrecked here and that was our note on the bird one of them replied.but how on earth did you even know i got the message i asked nicely?you had to have because this is not a tourist spot but is passed by generally said the woman ill call hilda.why isnt it as its a beautiful spot said i?theres headhunters on the island said the man ill call jake

.oh cmon now, youve been watching too much gilligans island i said with a roar of laughter.no he speaks the truth said hilda and we are all frantic to get off of here.how can such a thing exist i proclaimed as its too weird a scenario i uttered?they were here long ago and this is there turf that weve all invaded said mikey who was one of the group.the others names were jon and lisa.weird how you havent been hunted down by these savages i said aloud still laughing.just then hilda and jon said to me that its true and they make regular rounds to search for inhabitants trespassing on their grounds.

do you have any proof of this wild bunch said i most doubtfully to hilda and lisa?well prove it when they come hither said mikey interuptingly while lisa said we should go and hide on the other end of the island.i saw a shrunken head yesterday when i was looking for fish to make dinner with said jon.i picked it up and thought it was something else.so thats all of the proof we need.i suddenly became filled with fear and believed them.

i asked them how long they had been here and lisa said about 1 week.they rented a large boat from the same place i did it turned out and had gotten shipwrecked after a bad storm.a 3 hour tour i said but this time not jokingly.we need to get off of the island and well need your boat said jake after a long silence.lets stay together and if we see them coming we must run in separate directions to break them up i said.yes i agree to that whispered mikey.hilda also agreed with me but the rest were in doubt.

needless to say we walked for about .5 mile when suddenly we were met by this varrage of villagers whom ran from out of the brush and who were angrily pointing spears at us like a scene out of lost world or gilligans isle again.who are you and what business have you on our land said the leader?he was dressed up in ceremonial animal skins and i envisioned his bride would look like sheena or something primitive like her.we got stranded here and our boats been damaged said hilda and we mean not to trespass on your native isle!we are wanting off of here asap said lisa with jon and the others nodding in agreement.

well you can leave the island but one of you must stay with us as a trophy of what we found today said the burly leader.its a trade for allowing the rest of you to leave here!no way said hilda!all or nothing said lisa as jon agreed.then you must all remain with us and prove yourselves worthy to be freed from our island paradise he said.paradise for who i cried?if you can defeat the leader of our camp then you can go he said.we thought you were the leader i asked to which he replied a stern no.we walked about 15 minutes and came across the camp he talked about.it was time to see the challenge we would have to accept or die it looked like.

there were tents about 50 feet scattered across from each other and the sign overhead the main one read you trespass-you die.the leader walked from his tent and carried with him a long knife and had another one strapped to his side.im boo loo yu lah he said and i wi
